Stuff you should know

Ceremony/Reception

  • The ceremony & reception will both take place at St. Mary’s Boat Club

  • Please arrive by 3:30, the ceremony will start promptly at 4 with or without you & we’d prefer if you are there.

  • There will be a cocktail hour after the ceremony, followed by dinner & dancing. The bars last call is at 11, and we will be shutting down the dancefloor at midnight.

Parking

  • There is limited parking available on site. We encourage our guest to call a cab or Uber.

Cellphone free ceremony

  • We strongly ask you not to take photos or videos during the ceremony. We have a photographer present & we want our guests to share the moment with us.

  • The ceremony will be short and sweet, and we don’t want the moment to be spoiled for us, or any of our guests.

  • Please feel free to take as many photo’s & videos during the reception. If you’d like, you can share them with everyone through this link.

Dresscode

  • Cocktail dresses and suits encouraged, but we want all of our guest to be comfortable. Wear what you feel good in. Ceremony will take place outside rain or shine, so dress for the weather.

Accommodations

  • We have a block of rooms available through the Delta in Halifax. Just mention your coming for the MacFarlane wedding for a small discount.

Drinks

  • In order to manage costs and ensure we provide you with an amazing meal, we opted for a Cash Bar. Everyone’s first drink is on us. A bottle of white and red wine will be available at your table during dinner.  The bar will be open following our ceremony until last call at 11.  There is a minimum spend, so don’t let us down. We waited 8 years for this, so celebrate accordingly!
